FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions for Buyers
1. What is The Luxury Crypto and how do you protect my purchase?
We are the meeting point for buyers and sellers of high‑end watches from around the world. We don't store watches, but we do guarantee your peace of mind:
Your money is held in escrow (bank transfer or crypto). The seller gets paid only when you confirm everything is right.
- Every seller is verified with official ID. No exceptions.
- Every shipment is tracked and insured — we require a tracking number and full‑value insurance.
- Real people, real mediation. If anything goes wrong, our team steps in to find a fair solution.
Buying with us isn't just a transaction. It's peace of mind.
2. How do I buy a watch step by step?
You stay in control at every stage:
- Contact the seller — you can make an offer using the "Make an offer" button.
- Agree on price and shipping terms.
- Pay into our escrow account (bank transfer or crypto). Your money is held securely.
- We verify your identity and the seller's.
- The seller ships the watch with insurance and a tracking number.
- You receive, inspect and confirm everything is correct.
- We release the payment to the seller.
- Simple. Transparent. Yours to control.
3. What payment methods do you accept? Is crypto really safe?
We accept bank transfers and cryptocurrencies. Both are fully protected by our escrow: the money never reaches the seller until you give the green light.
With crypto, security goes further. Your funds are locked in a smart contract — a digital vault that only you can unlock. No volatility, no risk, no third party interference. It's the most transparent layer of protection you can get.
4. How do you guarantee the watch is the one I saw in the listing?
Every watch sold on The Luxury Crypto must include its serial number and original documentation. We log that number in our system before the payment is released.
We cross-check everything. If the serial number doesn't match, or the documentation is missing, we hold the funds and investigate before you ever risk a penny.
What you see is what you get. Guaranteed.
5. How much does it cost me to buy? Can I make offers?
As a buyer, there's no fee. The seller pays a flat 1% commission. You pay exactly the price you agreed.
Yes, you can make offers. If you see the "Make an offer" button, go ahead — negotiate directly with the seller, no strings attached.
6. Can I return the watch if I don't like it?
It depends on who you're buying from:
Professional seller: they're legally required to accept returns for 14 days. Your money stays in escrow until the return is completed.
Private seller: no legal obligation. Before you commit, agree with them if they accept returns and under what conditions (timeframe, costs, etc.). You can do this via chat or when making an offer.
Either way, if you used our escrow, your money isn't released until everything is settled.
7. What happens if something goes wrong?
We've got your back.
The watch doesn't match the description:
- Don't confirm receipt. Your money stays put.
- Open a claim with photos showing the differences.
- We investigate and mediate — partial refund, full refund, or a mutual agreement.
It's a fake:
- With escrow: don't confirm, open a claim. If we confirm fraud: full refund, permanent seller ban, and a report to the authorities.
- If you already confirmed: we dig into the seller's history and past transactions. If we find a pattern of fraud or repeat offending: immediate ban, and we hand over all evidence so you can take legal action.
The seller doesn't ship or the parcel is lost:.
- No shipment or invalid tracking → claim → we contact the seller → no response → full refund.
- Lost parcel: insurance is the seller's responsibility. Meanwhile, your money stays in escrow. If they don't cooperate, the money is frozen and we mediate until you recover your full amount.
You're not alone. We're here.
8. Do I have to pay import duties or taxes?
The price you see does not include customs duties, import taxes or brokerage fees.
- These depend on your country's laws and the seller's country.
- Before buying from abroad, check with your local customs office. We don't handle these formalities.
9. Where can I get help with other questions?
Email us at hello@theluxurycrypto.com or use our contact form. We reply within 24 hours on business days.
You can also contact any seller directly using the "Make an offer" button before you buy.
📌 In short
Your money stays in escrow until you confirm. Every seller is verified. Every shipment is tracked and insured. We mediate if things go wrong. We investigate and ban anyone who tries to cheat.
It's not about being careful. It's about having guarantees.
Frequently Asked Questions for Sellers
1. How much does it cost to sell on The Luxury Crypto?
A flat 1% commission. No monthly fees, no fine print, no surprises.
- You only pay when you sell.
- The 1% is calculated on the final agreed price.
- The buyer pays no fee — which makes your price more attractive.
Selling here costs you nothing until you win.
2. How can I be sure I'll get paid?
The buyer's money is held in our escrow account from the moment they pay. You don't receive it until they confirm receipt — and that's exactly the guarantee they need to buy from you with confidence.
- Once the buyer confirms everything is correct, we release your payment immediately.
- You can receive funds by bank transfer or cryptocurrency — whichever you prefer.
- If the buyer doesn't confirm within the agreed timeframe, the money is eventually released anyway (clear communication is always the best way to avoid delays).
The money is held, not blocked. You sell with the peace of mind that the buyer can't keep the watch without paying.
3. What protection do I have as a seller? What if the buyer tries to scam me?
Protection works both ways.
- We verify the buyer's identity just as we verify yours. No anonymous buyers.
- The buyer can't keep both the watch and the money. To release your payment, they must confirm receipt. If they don't, the money stays put.
- If a buyer opens an unjustified claim, we investigate. We look at the evidence — photos, conversations, history — and mediate to reach a fair outcome.
- Against false damage claims, your watch is insured during shipping (as long as you've taken out the required insurance). A buyer can't claim non-existent damage without proof.
You're not alone against a difficult buyer. We ensure honesty on both sides.
4. How does the seller reputation system work?
Every successful transaction adds to your profile.
- Buyers rate you with stars and written feedback.
- A strong history gives you better visibility in search results and builds trust with future buyers.
- If you accumulate justified complaints or fraudulent returns, your reputation drops and we may restrict your account.
Your reputation is your best business card. Nurture it, and we'll help it grow.
5. Can I sell as a private individual, or only as a professional?
Both. We welcome private sellers and professionals (dealers, shops).
- Private sellers: you can list pieces from your collection without needing to register as a business.
- Professionals: you also get access to our Professional Dealer Programme (more on that below).
- The only legal difference is that professionals must accept returns for 14 days (private sellers aren't obliged to, but they can agree to it voluntarily).
Whether you sell one watch or a hundred, there's a place for you here.
6. What do I need to list a watch?
A few key things:
- Clear photographs of the watch (front, back, clasp, strap, box and papers if available).
- Serial number (we log it internally to guarantee traceability).
- Detailed description: brand, model, reference, year, condition, included accessories.
- Original documentation (if it exists) — not mandatory, but it builds trust.
- Price (and if you're open to offers, enable the "Make an offer" button).
The more detail you provide, the easier it is to sell.
7. How do I handle shipping?
You manage shipping directly, but under our conditions:
- Mandatory: full‑value insurance covering the watch's total price.
- Mandatory: a valid tracking number.
- Recommended: professional, discreet packaging.
What if something goes wrong?
If the parcel is lost, the insurance you arranged covers the full value. It's your responsibility to activate it, but meanwhile the money remains in escrow. The buyer can't take both the watch and the refund.
If the buyer claims damage or discrepancies, we investigate and mediate using evidence from both sides.
If everything is correct and the buyer confirms, you receive your payment without delay.
A well‑handled shipment is the fastest way to get paid. And if something does go wrong, the money stays protected until it's sorted.
8. What is the Professional Dealer Programme?
It's our programme for regular sellers — dealers, shops, and high‑volume collectors.
- Enhanced visibility in search results.
- "Professional" badge on your profile.
- Advanced analytics to optimise your sales.
- Priority support for any issues.
- Bulk listing options if you have many references.
If you sell regularly, this programme is for you. Email us at hello@theluxurycrypto.com and we'll explain the next steps.
📌 In short (for sellers)
- You pay just 1% when you sell.
- Your money is guaranteed — the buyer can't take the watch and walk away.
- We protect you against fraudulent buyers.
- Your reputation boosts your visibility.
- Sell as a private individual or as a professional.
- Listing is straightforward: photos, serial number, description.
- Shipping is your responsibility, but the rules are clear (insurance + tracking).
